There's about 1,200 metric tons of garbage dumped everyday in one of the biggest garbage land sites in Philippines. There's so much garbage there now, you could fill up about 4 football stadiums!
So basically what their doing is, is that their taking the methane gas that the garbage gives off, and their converting it into electricity. So the garbage is basically another source of electricity now, and since their's so much garbage, there's much more electricity generated!
I'm NOT saying make more garbage, I'm just saying that it's a really nice idea to turn something bad (garbage) into something we need now, which is electricity.
