Mall Aquarium! (Dubai)

Hey guys!
A few days ago, I was in the Dubai mall, (which by the way you need to go to, it's awesome!!), and I walked by a huge tank. Not a huge tank, a HUMONGOUS tank! It was the biggest aquarium I have ever seen! (51 X 20 X 11 to be exact). Some of the species I saw in the tank was:
-Unicorn Fish
-Water Rats
-Sting Rays
-Giant Spider Crabs
-Leopard sharks

and like, 20 more species!

I will upload a lot of pictures I took in the Dubai mall, did you know the aquarium also received a guiness world record for the World's largest Acrylic Panel? But when I was there, I was thinking of the unlucky specimen of the water that get killed or affected by pollution in the water from factories, and garbage from the people near beaches, etc. Every single creature in that tank was really something special to see, and creatures like that are dying everyday because of us. The tank is really something to behold, here are just a couple of snaps, I will upload a lot more on a seperate picasa album, so stay tuned and make sure to follow me on Twitter:

An Eco-Project!

Hey guys, sorry I haven't posted an update to this blog in a long time. I'm going to make a promise. New post, every week. How does that sound?
Ok, back to the topic, my church, St.Andrew's, has an interesting problem. Everyday after the service ends, the congregation goes to the back of the church for coffee and snacks, which is fine, except for 1 thing. Our church uses Styrofoam cups.

These cups look ok, but mother nature hates them! They are NOT recyclable, and they are definitely NOT bio-degradable, which means it will not break down into the soil for worms and other insects to eat. So basically, it's plastic, in another form. So I, along with some others, have decided to do a little project. Count how many cups the church uses in 1 Sunday, and then multiply them into 4 Sundays (1 month) and then see how many cups we actually use every month and every Sunday. Think of this. If we use glass, we can re-use it how many ever times we want, and we don't have to keep buying new cups every Sunday. So we save money, and the environment. What projects can you do like this to keep this world green?
Will update on more news on this project, bye for now!

Oh, and happy late Thanksgiving to all my American readers out there, hope you are Thankful and happy :)

Air Travel

A lot of people have been asking: How is air travel bad? I can't see any air pollution!
Well, actually, there are a lot of pollutants coming out of planes from the engines. The pollution coming out of planes are so, oh, ever so much more than cars and other public transport! Just imagine this. There are about 6,000 commercial planes flying daily. All those planes are dumping more pollutants in the atmosphere. In other words, planes are one of the biggest contributors of global warming. They burn the most fossil fuels on a daily basis. So try and reduce travel with machines and try and travel more with foot or cycle as much as you can! If you do, imagine how much your helping the world!

Summer to Autumn...

Hello guys! Today, I am just going to tell you about a very obvious change. Summer is changing to Autumn in Canada! That means Winter is changing to Spring in Australia, so bad for Canada, and good for Australia! All the leaves of the deciduous trees are falling to the ground as the season changes.

I mean, its like nature knows it's time to change! But anyway, the temperature is also getting pretty cold, now the temperature is dropping from 30*C to 14*C. So bye for now guys, I will write more as we move more along into the Fall season. I might now update my blog as much as I can now because school started and I don't have a lot of spare time now. So follow me on Twitter so you can be updated about my blog!

Animal of The Week (3)

Hello viewers, it's that time again for the new Animal of the Week! This week's animal is...the turkey vulture!

The Turkey Vulture is one of the biggest birds of prey. It likes to eat dead animals, so it follows highways for animals that we humans run over with our cars. It can smell food even if it is kilometres away. It has a 6-foot wing span, and it can fly for 5 hours straight without flapping it's wings once! After about 3 weeks after it eats it's food, the turkey vulture vomits it out, because the dead animal would be decaying in its body the whole time. The vulture just takes the nutrients from the dead animal it eats and then it vomits it out. Turkey vultures are also very valuable to the environment because it can kill diseases. Suppose it eats a diseased dead animal, the turkey vulture's stomach's fluids will break down the disease and kill it. So that's the new animal of the week, and stay tuned for more!

A Real Eco-Hero!

Hello viewers, this post is going to be dedicated to one of the biggest Eco-Heroes of all time, Albert Arnold Gore Jr. He was the 45th vice president of the United States. He was born in March 31st, 1948 (Aged 62), and he was born in Washington DC. He was a man of many talents, he served the army, he was the Vice President, but what I really like about him is his interest in the environment.

Algore

Algore receiving his Nobel Peace Prize for making the film 'An Inconvenient Truth' in 2007

Algore campaigning to be President of the United States in 1999.

He is my hero because he wrote a fantastic book about the environment called 'An Inconvenient Truth', and that book turned out to be a Academy Award documentery! He was always hitting the books trying to get as much information about global warming as possible. But he went beyond books, he thought of the outcomes of global warming himself through scientific reasoning. He really thought outside of the box, and that's why he won so many awards. He was a simple and humble person, and that's what made him more likeable. So guys, thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed my little write up about Algore!

Did you know?

Hello viewers, here is just a fact file I got when I was reading something. Hope you find it interesting!

-In the past 30 years, roughly 86% of world's population of rhinoceroses has been killed for parts by poachers.
-With the construction of hotels and airports, animals and wildlife that live near beaches are disturbed because of the air pollution, the noise and the blinding lights.
-Monk seals are the most rare seals in the whole world. Less than 500 Mediterranean monk seals remain, and about 1,500 Hawaiian monk seals are left. The Caribbean monk seals are already extinct.
-In 1830's, the world's population was about 1000 million (1 billion). But it took only about a 100 years for the total population to double itself.

Wetland Destruction

Aloha guys! So, as the title says, we are going to talk about Wetlands.

Wetlands are the world's richest ecosystems. Lots of them have been deforested and some of them have been damaged by wild weather, droughts (No rain), and rise in sea level. Wetlands are home to lots of wildlife as well, such as insects, birds, and fish. More than 50% of wetlands have been destroyed. Humans love wetlands most of all because it offers lots of protection from floods, so humans make wetlands their industrial location, and their homes, therefore, cutting down the forest. But if we keep cutting down the forests, then we not only are helping feed global warming with all the excess pollution, but we are also killing the wildlife that lives in those kinds of regions. So do Earth a favour by not cutting trees!

Animal Of The Week (2)

It's as you guessed, its time to tell you the new Animal of the Week. This week's animal is... the Tiger!

Some facts about the tiger:

Their lifespan is about 10-15 years in the wild, and up to 20 years in captivity.
They are now considered an endangered species.
They can weigh over 300 kilograms (660 pounds)
The most common species is the Bengal Tiger and the largest species is the Siberian Tiger.
They live mostly in grasslands and the Siberian Tiger lives in the Siberian Taiga.
The Tiger is India's national animal.
Tiger's are excellent swimmers, they can swim 4 miles with dead prey and they normally cool off in pools during extreme heat.
Because of poaching (hunting), the population of tiger's in the wild now is estimated to be around 2,000. At the start of the 20th century, it was estimated to be 100,000 tigers in the wild.
The majority of the tigers are now in India.
Humans consider the tiger their main Game. (Hunt)
The tiger was voted the world's most favourite animal based on a pool Animal Planet had.

Well, that's all for now, stay tuned for more!

Law Of Unintended Consequences!

Sometimes, too much of a good thing also has it's consequences. I want to give you 2 examples of that.

In Australia: A large frog, commonly known as the Giant Neotropical Toad, came from the United States and Brazil. It was brought to Australia because there was a beetle in Australia called the Cane beetle, that was eating all the sugar cane crops in Australia. So the toads were supposed to eat all the beetles and control the problem. The toads did their job, but a little too well. The toads were eating the beetles like there was no tomorrow, and now there are hardly any of those beetles anymore. There were originally 102 toads sent over, now there are over 200 million!!

Canada: In Canada, there is a group called the Canadian Forest Service. Here, they keep forest fires from raging through our forests. But they are forgetting something. Fire is part of the natural eco-system of forests. Because there are no fires now, large amounts of trees are prone to be threatened by pests. Diseases have already started breaking out in forests that could have been prevented by fire. Without fire, the bed of soil keeps growing taller and thicker. So the seeds that are going to grow cannot because the soil is just not right for them. Now, older trees are being threatened by pine beetles. Forests all over British Columbia and Alberta are at risk now because of now forest fires. Isn't that ironic?

Ice Cool Facts!

Bonjour Madam et Messieurs! Today, I will be giving you some really cool facts (literally!) that I hope will interest you. Check it out!

-If the sun was layered by a layer of ice that is 1 mile thick, the sun would melt the ice in 2 hours.
-The coldest temperature ever measured was taken at Vostock Station, Antarctica, in July 1983. The temperature was -89 degrees C.
-The Last Ice age was biggest about 18,000 years ago. Ice stretched from the North Pole down south to places like The Great Lakes in North America and even all the way to cover most of Britain and Scandinavia!
-In the North and South Pole, the sun either does not rise in the winter season nor does it set in the Summer season! Isn't that incredible?

Animal Of The Week

Hello viewers!

I am going to start a new segment to this blog, and as the title says, it is going to be called the ANIMAL OF THE WEEK. Today, the animal of the week is the PELICAN. The pelican is a big majestic bird. Their wingspan can reach over 2 meters in length. They have very long beaks, which they use to get fish out of the water while flying in the air. They float really well with their webbed feet for paddling. Pelicans mostly are found in warm climate areas. They make their homes in trees and rarely on the ground. Here is a picture of the pelican:BlogBooster-The most productive way for mobile blogging. BlogBooster is a multi-service blog editor for iPhone, Android, WebOs and your desktop

Feel free to leave a comment below suggesting an animal. It can be any animal, but it has to be real! Just suggest an animal and I may write about the animal in the new segment: Animal of the week.

Statistics, cool facts...

Hello viewers, I just wanted to show you some interesting facts:

- The USA and china are the biggest contributors to global warming.
- An average USA citizen emits about 20 tons of garbage, which is about 5 times more than the Earth's average of 4 tons per person.
- Americans use 50 million tons of paper, cutting down about 850 million trees
- By turning down your thermostat in your house by 1 degree, fuel consumption is cut by as much as 10%
- Every ton of recycled paper saves about 380 gallons of fuel.
- 40,000 children are killed because of diseases that were created by air and garbage pollution.
- Every day, 40-80 plants and animals (many are micro-organisms) become extinct because of human influences such as pollution.

That's all I have for you today, thanks for reading!

Home Sweet Home!

Take a moment to just think about your home. You know, the shelter in which you live in, the shelter which is warm and dry. Now imagine losing your home. You would feel angry and sad. Maybe that's how animal's feel when we cut down their homes! Humans don't even think twice before they cut down forests, and other types of lands such as tundra's, polar ice caps, grasslands and wetlands! But we can do something about it. Earth rangers are trying to protect the wild spaces that animals need to survive. Environmentalists are constantly working on ways to preserve the environment. So what can you do? You guys are certain to find something!

Acid Rain :(

Hello guys, I just wanted to show-and-tell you guys something really important. I am not sure you have heard of it but it is called acid rain. (Ugh, imagine taking a shower in it!) Acid rain is created when moisture from pollution such as moisture from smoke and carbon dioxide mixes with the air. So when it all evaporates, it finally falls down as acid rain. So again, humans are to blame (what a coincidence :p) But it get's worse! Acid rain is harmful to plants and wildlife, and it sometimes flows to water bodies like lakes, seas and oceans and then it mixes with the cycle of the water body. So if acid rain falls on one country, or even one city, the acid can spread on my water, and the gases can also be carried away my wind! So guys, if you stop polluting, we can have fresh rain and we don't have to worry about acid in the water that we drink! Thank you for your kind attention!

Follow me on twitter and show that you care! C'mon, please, it will only take a few seconds!

The Blanket of Earth: The Atmosphere!

Hello guys! Today I am going to talk to you about the Earth's blanket, or, in correct terms, the Atmosphere. The atmosphere is mainly covering the Earth to protect us from the Ultra-Violet Rays, or UV Rays for short. The atmosphere has 5 main layers: The Troposphere, the Stratosphere, the Mesosphere, the Thermosphere, and the Exosphere. Planes fly in the Stratosphere when it is coasting, and when it is taking off or landing, it is in the Thermosphere. All living beings on Earth live in the Thermosphere part of the Atmosphere because it contains the highest level of oxygen, and the UV rays harm us the least in this layer. Thanks for reading guys, and thank you for helping me reach over 4,000 viewers! I mean, that is amazing! You guys really do care about the environment, and that makes me really happy. Thanks for spreading the awareness and thanks for everything that you do! See you next time! :)

U.S Stats!

Hello viewers, I just found out some updated US statistics that I want to share with you. And since I like saving the good for the last, I am going to tell you the bad news first.

The Bad:

-900 Million trees are cut every year to make paper!
-There is enough waste in the US to fill 1,600 New Orleans Super-domes!
-One third of the waste is from packing materials.

The Good:

-Approximately 1,450 aluminium cans are recycled every second! (Can you believe it?)
-A recycled aluminium can takes 80% less energy to make rather than a new can.
-Recycling about 1 ton of cardboard saves over 9 cubic yards of land space.
-Producing recycled paper uses 75% less energy, 70% less air pollution, and 35% less water pollution than making new sheets of paper. And lets not forget the trees we are saving too!

Incredible India!!!

See this picture? This picture was taken in a place in India called Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari is the very most southern tip of India. See how beautiful it is? It is ow plastic-free as plastic bags are banned from stores over there. People have to bring their own bags or the products are wrapped in newspapers or recycled paper bags. Such a small community made this place so clean! More tha half of the items, products, and produces in Kayakumari are organic, so they are very eco-friendly. Here is another thing that is off topic but I really get annoyed by this: People who think India is a bug infested hot wasteland, open your eyes! There is so much more to India than what people tell you or what you read. India is incredible, it's inexplainable! The Taj Mahal, the Red Fort, even a small town like Kanyakumari, are all places you have to see to believe it.

Louisiana Oil Spill

Hello viewers! I was researching on the oil spill on the coast of Louisiana, and I wanted to share some interesting facts I learned. Well, I am sure you know that the oil spill is very life threatening for the marine life. The oil will only float on top of the water, so the carbon dioxide that the fish breathe out is trapped inside the water. Like us, when we lock ourselves in the closet, more carbon dioxide accumulates and we eventually suffocate. The oil spill can harm even us, when the wind blows and the gases mix in our air space. We can get cancer, sick, etc. But on the bright side, a lot of people are trying to clean up the oil spill. They are using hot dog shaped items called Logs, which basically attracts all the oil to itself and it absorbs it. So some of the oil is being trapped in the logs. Here are some images of the oil spill:Massive Oil Slick Reaches Louisiana Gulf Coast

All the brown stuff are the chemicals in the oil. Very dangerous!!

Iceland Eruption? Are you serious??

Can anyone here believe that one of the volcanoes on Iceland erupted? I mean.. it's Iceland!! A volcano erupted April 11th 2010. The ash cloud blocked off major air spaces for a lot of countries, causing complete sorrow and depression for a lot of people, sorry people.. I feel your pain..
But the good news is that the ash cloud seems to be clearing. Huge airports like Heathrow in England are finally starting to open up. I am not so sure about the ash cloud, so I will post some more information later. Adiós for now!

The Game Called Forest Depletion...

Hello again viewers, I just wanted to point out something I found out during school. It's pretty bad, but humans have needs... Tropical Rainforests. Humans use these forests the most. They are found in places near the equator, in the temperate zone. You might ask: "Why do humans cut down tropical rainforests? Well, it's because of many reasons. These reasons include: Lumber, Hard Wood, Medicinal Herbs, etc. The Hard Wood is called so because of it's quality. Huge markets like Ikea use only this wood, that's why they are slightly more expensive than other stores. The quality of wood is much better than others. Fact: Did you know that North America has lost 25% of it's total forests?

Solar Eclipse Phenomenon!

December 26th, 2004. A huge tsunami struck South-west Asia. It was a huge tsunami, one of the biggest ones known to mankind. The reason I am talking about tsunami's is because of something I have been researching on. Does anyone who is reading this know what a Solar Eclipse is? A solar eclipse is when the moon blocks the sun's rays on the earth. So for a limited time, one side of the earth will be covered with darkness. So during that time, the moon is much closer to the Earth than it usually is. The moon, because it's so close, will radiate a gravitational pull towards the Earth. When that happens, the plate tectonics will be most vulnerable, because the extra gravity pulling on it. Then, if an Earthquake chooses to strike at that moment, the tsunami will be roughly 6 times stronger than it would have been if the solar eclipse hadn't occurred. It would be like a tidal wave and a tsunami combined. A Tidal Wave's power is based only on the moon's gravity. So when the moon is extremely close, the tidal wave would be much more powerful. I just wanted to share that with you. I know it wasn't related to the topic much, but it seems pretty interesting, don;t you think? :)

Earth Hour

Hello, my-name-is.... oh, sorry! That was my robot. It was taking out the trash, and.. never mind. To the matter at hand. Does anyone who is reading this know about Earth Hour? During March 27th, everyone on this planet turns of their power. They turn of their lights, their heaters, everything they can. I want to show you guys something from a satellite image:
Sorry it's extremely big, but this picture delivers a huge message. Did you know that North America uses the most electricity as against other countries?Just looking at the picture tells you that. They are the largest consumers of electricity in the world. They use it for average homes, huge business, buildings, etc. An average home is North America uses about 14000 Kwh (kilowatts-hour) per year. To understand that, let me give you an example. An A/C in your house uses about 3.7 kilowatts. So in an hour, the A/C would use 3.7 kwh. A 100 watt lightbulb uses 0.1 kilowatts, because 1000 watts is a kilowatt.

But before the big detail, let me explain Earth Hour. It started in Sydney, Australia, 2007. 2.2 million households and buildings turned off their lights for one hour. You might think it's not a lot. But actually, they saved so much power that they could use the saved power to power up a whole city for a 3 days. So because Australia saved so much power, the whole planet got involved one year later and turned off their lights. 50 million people across 35 countries contributed by turning off their lights for one hour. That's how it started. Earth Hour is only for one day. But you can do so much more than just turn off your lights for one hour each year! You can turn your lights off everyday, try consuming as less much power as you can. You can turn off that television when no one is watching. Don't let the maths confuse you. Just try and save as much energy as you can, and you wouldn't need to worry about it! Oh man, my robot is munching away on lightbulbs again! I have to stop him, so buh bye, and remember, save power!!!

Operation: Vegetable Compost!

Did you know that Mother Nature can recycle a lot on her own? Let me tell you how this happens.

You know how dead leaves fall on the ground, and then eventually dissapear into the soil? This is because of all the micro organisms in the soil. They eat the dead leaves slowly, until there is no more left for it to eat. Some of the organisms in the soil include- Fungi, Worms, Insects, and other bacteria. Fact- One tablespoon of forest soil contains about 50 billion of these organisms? Unbelievable, isn't it? That is the start of a process that eventually ends up in fertilizing the soil tenfold, making it much richer that is was before!

So, now comes the amazing part. These foods are all examples of biodegradable items- Stale Bread, Grass, Vegetable Skins (Or peelings), eggshells, tea bags, etc. They are all compost-able. Which means you do not have to throw all those foods away in you compost bin. Why don't you place all those foods in our backyards or lawns? It does not pollute at all, and you are enriching the soil! So unlike most other items, you don't have to worry about pollution.

Now, here's something to think about: Why don't you start a compost program in your school? Tell a teacher or a principle, and then decide a particular place where you'll leave all your compost waste. Then, all you have to do and wait for mother nature do do the cleaning for you! Isn't that great?

Paper Saver Mode!

Ahoy! Let's get back to the important matter at hand. I think you know I am talking about saving the Earth. Anyway, just wanted to share with you what I found during my research. Hope you find it interesting!

Now, I am not sure what you do after you read a newspaper or finish writing on a piece of paper. You most probably throw it away right? Well, don't. Look at these numbers. If you recycle paper (which I hope you are doing), they are pulped and shredded. Then, they are turned into recycle paper and maybe even harder substances like cardboard. Fact: For every metric ton of recycled items, you are saving 17 trees, approximately 5,500 gallons of water, and you are saving 270 gallons of petroleum needed to make new paper. Now, that is a lot of life, money, and natural resources your saving. See, your saving lives by just throwing your paper in the recycling bin! To know what is recyclable, there will be a picture somewhere on the product. The picture is at the bottom of the page. It is 3 arrows all revolving behind each other.

I hope you are now informed about this issue. So, I just have one more thing to say. People who are reading this, it is time to change our mode to: Paper Saver Mode!!! Until next time, bye!

Recycling Time!

Hello again. Today, I just want to promote the importance of recycling. I know everyone says recycling is good, blah, blah blah! But do you know why recycling is so important? Do you know how much life you can save on Earth just by throwing away that paper in the recycling? Let me tell you.

Firstly, incineration (means to burn). I am sure you know that incineration plants are where garbage trucks go to, deposit the garbage there, and leave. Then, they burn all the garbage. Now, this is the good part. They make the heat which is used to burn the garbage into energy. That makes incineration sound good right? Think again. There are tons of toxins that pollute the air from the fire they use to burn the garbage. Now, these toxins include-Dioxins (causes cancer), and Acid Gas (which causes forests and wildlife to suffer). Now, they do have filters to purify the air, but that eventually also gets dirty and after a while, they need to get rid of that too.

Now, another option which we are doing right now is burying all the garbage into the soil. So we don't have to see it, or smell it. But do you know the consequences? Did you know that in Europe alone, there is more that a billion metric tons of garbage rotting in landfill sites? But back to what I was saying, the landfill sites contaminate the fresh ground water, and it also sometimes poisons the water. Now, the main problem. There is a gas that emits from the garbage called Methane. This is a greenhouse gas that contributes to global warming. Another example of a greenhouse gas that is harmful to the atmosphere is called Freon. This gas is emitted by refrigerators.

Now, I hope you are well informed about this problem, because I am very disturbed by it. I think we can stop it. Recycle everything you can. try respecting nature just like it has been to you.

River Trouble!

Hello people of Earth, and on that note; why don't we save the Earth? Here is another thing I found out during my research that I want to share with you. Did you know that farmers use fertilizers to speed up the growth of plants? Well, most of the fertilizers are made of nitrogen (a gas). Now, don't get me wrong, these fertilizers help the plants growth tenfold. But, most of the time, farmers use too much of the nitrogen. Now, because of that, the leftover nitrogen gets swamped away by rain and it goes into the nearby rivers. Now, the bad part. The extra nitrogen will also promote the growth of plants like algae. Now, normally, algae gets well fed, but because of the extra nitrogen, it starts growing out of control, and then it finally ends up taking up a lot of the oxygen, space and other essential minerals in the water. And because of that, the fish and the other plants finally start dying because the algae took up all the space and the nutrients. Think of this; if the only food on Earth was cookies, and the cookie monster ate all of the cookies, you would start getting hungry right Same feeling for the life in the water. You don't want to kill this guy, would you?

So now you know. If the sea is polluted with artificial (unreal) nutrients, the seaweed would grow and fill up the shoreline. That would be a problem for humans (because we have to clean up!), and it would be a problem for the marine life too because it is taking up space. Now, I want you to think about something: Whenever you throw your garbage into a stream, a gutter or a beach, it will most likely to end up in a river. Well, that's it. Bye for now!

Beach Cleanup!

You know what an ocean is right? Well, maybe you do now. But what will it be later in the future? We are using the ocean as a huge garbage dump! A lot of people dump their garbage in the ocean because they think it will magically disappear. Well, let me put it this way: the Mediterranean Sea gets about 6 MILLION items of garbage a day!! And that started a few years ago, now there are about 750 million items of garbage in total on the surface of the water. No joke. The most amount of garbage has come from the shore. All the wildlife underwater will die. Unbelievable, isn't it?

Now comes the part of pollution. Evaporation occurs, and water droplets go up and form rain clouds. But because the water is contaminated with all the human garbage, the water droplets are filthy. But even worse, the liquid wastes from factories like mercury and lead, all get completely evaporated and they form acid rain. That hurts marine life very much. The water is polluted, the fish cannot breath properly because just like us, they need fresh water. Not polluted, acid water.

See, if you clean up beaches, then you can save a lot of marine life. Just throwing away that chip packet can save a lot of fish!

Something Extra

Hello once again! Just some extra things you can do that will help the planet without you hardly even lifting a finger! Ok, first off, shopping. You know, grocery shopping, stationary shopping. You buy it, you use it, and then you finally want to throw it. Now, before you do, I want you to check something. Look at the packet of the product or the product itself. You should be able to find a sign that looks like this: .

Now, if you do, then you know that means it is recyclable. That means you have to throw it in the recycle bin. If it doesn't have the sign anywhere, even is it not on the packet, then that means it is not recyclable. (But that is very unlikely ; now normally everything, even some metals are all recyclable. Eg- Aluminium and steel)

What can we do to help prevent it?

There are many things we can do to help save the planet. First, the most simple thing we can do: Pick up your garbage. It sounds easy, but will you really commit? You can pick up garbage, any garbage you can see on the streets, or in your community. Then, put it in the correct garbage can. If it is paper, or something related to that, then dispose of it in the recycling bin. If it is organic, such as a banana peel, or apple skin, dispose of it in the organic bin. Then, if there is any extra garbage you cannot recognize, then you can dispose of it in the normal bin. ( eg- plastic).

Then, if you are going a short distance, please try walking, or taking a cycle. Try refrain from using a car because cars emit gases like carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. Do you know they are making cars which are battery operated? So those cars will emit no harmful gases. Driving all those cars will do no harm to the environment. So please try avoiding driving a car that uses petrol and diesel.

Those are just 2 of the million things you can do to save the environment and help prevent global warming. Spread the awareness, tell people when they are doing something wrong like littering. Doing it by accident is ok, but doing it knowingly, is just not cool. Ask people about global warming. Learn more about it from the internet. I also have a little challenge for you: for 1 week, pick up any garbage you find, and put it in the trash bin. No matter how gross it is. If you do it, amazing job. Pat yourself on the back for the good work!
