Spring Is Here!

Hello everybody!

It's that time of year again, Spring is finally back! Ah, the birds are chirping, the grass is green again...I love Spring! It's such a relaxing time, when you can finally stop wearing countless amounts of clothing just to fight the winter cold.

Onto some personal news, I've been having an extremely taxing semester in school, and since I am in grade 11, I took a break from blogging for a while just so I could focus on my studies. However, now I am back, ready to make more blog posts for you guys! I will be active again, so stay tuned for blog posts. I will be releasing a schedule shortly, so all of you can stay up to date on when I will be posting. Thanks to all of you who have been sticking around for my blog, I appreciate all of your support!

Negative Effects of Technology On Human Health (School Assignment)

Hey guys,

I'm doing a school assignment right now where we are conducting research on the negative effects technology has on human health. Now, technology has a great impact on society in some aspects. It helps us advance our communication capabilities, it saves people's lives in terms of advancement in hospital equipment, and it even helps us explore the unknown! (space missions, under water travel, etc)

However, I am here to talk about a few negative aspects of technology too. Some of these points might be slightly exaggerated, but that is to add emphasis to the issues at hand.

1) Lack Of Physical Confrontation
Communication has come a very long way when technology started advancing at rapid speeds. The telephone, and later the internet allowed people to talk to each other with ease, even when the people talking were at opposite ends of the globe. Nowadays, it is possible to video chat with people anywhere in the world with superb video and sound quality, which allows for business executives, students, friends and family all connect with each other. This sounds great (and it is) but people are getting more and more accustomed to using these ways of communication. Nobody seems willing to meet new people face to face, they would rather connect with them over the internet. This is not good as there are many crimes that can be committed through impersonations online, or harassment over the internet. Proper relationships can never be built solely on the internet, there needs to be a physical meeting between the parties involved on the internet, but since no party is willing to meet face to face, no relations are ever built. This can be said for business relations as well as regular human relations. This can be particularly harmful to somebody's emotional well-being.

2) Environmental Pollution
This comes as an obvious negative aspect of technology on human health. From the time of the industrial revolution to now, we have been trying to maximize efficiency with our machines to make it do the most work it can while consuming very little resources. Since every country on the planet is improving their technologies and adding more factories, more buildings, adding infrastructure and the growing automobile sector, there is more and more pollution that has to be dealt with. On top of that, to make more space for human creation we have to cut down forests and destroy other natural structures for our "own good". This creates a huge recoil effect that we will have to deal with later, as soon our water bodies and food sources will be polluted as well, and this will be extremely detrimental to our health later on. (Physical health, that is)

3) Overpopulation
With technology getting more advanced everyday, the medical field is rapidly changing as well. It is constantly improving, finding new cures to previously incurable diseases, improving equipment and infrastructures, and far more in-depth research on the human body. This allows for many lives to be saved everyday because of technology. This is a good thing, but because we are saving so many people from death, and there are more people being born every minute, it will get harder to evenly allocate resources for everyone that is alive. Overpopulation can be a very bad thing as we start running out of resources to use. This will affect not only human health, but the life of every organism on this planet.

I am going to stop there, I know that this was a more "dark" type of blog post and I apologize for that. This is an assignment we are currently working on in school, so I am posting it here to try and create an awareness. Technology is great and can greatly help people, but it can also be bad for us.
